Environmental Education

Keep Sweden Tidy runs several education programs about environment and sustainable development for school- and preschool staff, industry, municipalities, county councils and organizations. Theoretical studies are combined with value excercises and practical exercises, in order to rouse interest, motivation and participation – the basis for sustainable environmental work!

Environmental education for schools and preschools

Keep Sweden Tidy offers environmental education to schools and preschools. The last few years hundreds of teachers have been able to take part of a one-day course about the Sweden's environmental objectives and how to work with them. Being the national coordinator of the Eco-Schools program in Sweden, Keep Sweden Tidy also helps teachers work with sustainable development in their day-to-day work using Grön Flagg.

During the period of 2009–2011 a large effort is made to educate teachers in Sweden about sustainable development in the project of COM-U, partly financed by the EU fund Life+.

Environmental education for businesses, organizations and municipalities

Our educational programs are adapted to the client's requirements. Several workplaces need knowledge and motivation to start up or develop their environmental work.

Participation and motivation

Successful environmental work is about running a process. This process is often restrained due to lack of motivation and participation. Knowledge is not enough in order to achieve results in the environmental work. Our educational programs therefore offer a combination of facts, discussion and value exercises. This promotes participation and motivation.

Our environmental education programs are based on Value Methodology. They also include elements of Problem-based Learning and in some cases outdoor teaching methods.
